Patna : The 1st T20I between India and Australia at The Gabba, Brisbane, Australia, has been reduced to 17 overs per side due to rain. Play was stopped due to rain after 16.1 overs with Australia at 153/3. Australia scored 158/4 in 17 overs after resumption of play. Glen Maxwell fell to pacer Jasprit Bumrah for 46 in 24 balls with 4 sixes.

Chris Lynn made 37 while captain Aaron Finch scored 27. Marcus Stoinis remained unbeaten on 33 in 19 balls with 3 fours and a six. Kuldeep Yadav took 2/24. Bumrah and K Khaleel Ahmad took one wicket each. India had won the toss but opted to bowl.
