Patna : The first T20I between Australia and Pakistan at Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney, Australia, was called off due to heavy rains on November 3, 2019. Australia won the toss but opted to bowl. Earlier, the match was reduced to 15 overs each side due to rain.

Batting first, Pakistan scored 107/5 in 15 overs with opener Babar Azam ( captain) scoring an unbeaten 59 in 39 balls hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes while Mohd Rizwan ( wk) made 31 in 33 balls with 1 four and 1 six. For Australia,Mitchell Starc took 2/22 in 3 overs while Kane Richardson took 2/16 in 3 overs. Spinner Ashton Agar took 1/23 in 3 overs.

In reply, Australia had scored 41/0 in 3.1 overs with batting on 37 opener Aaron Finch ( captain) batting on 37 in 16 balls hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes when play was stopped due to rain. For a result, Australia had to bat at least for 5 overs. Had match lasted 11 more balls, Australia would have easily won due to better run rate.
