New Delhi : A total of 18,855 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,07,20,048 cases in the country at 8 am on January 29, 2021. On the other hand, 20,746 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,03,94,352 on January 29, 2021, exceeding the number of active cases ( 1,71,686) by a gigantic margin of 1,02,22,666. The active cases accounted for just 1.60% of the total Covid-19 cases (1,07,20,048) on January 29, 2021, a drop of 2,054 cases in last 24 hours.
Of the 1,07,20,048 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in India, altogether 1,03,94,352 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 96.96%. The country has tested 19,50,81,079 samples so far including 7,42,306 samples on January 28, 2021. Meanwhile, 29,28,053 healthcare worker have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India including 5,72,060 beneficiaries on January 28, 2021.
The Covid-19 toll jumped to 1,54,010 in India on January 29, 2021, with 163 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 50 in Maharashtra, 35 in Chhattisgarh, 19 in Kerala, 9 in Punjab, 9 in West Bengal, 6 in Delhi, 6 in Uttar Pradesh, 6 in Tamilnadu, 3 in Jharkhand, 3 in Madhya Pradesh, 3 in Uttarakhand, 2 in Karnataka, 2 in Bihar, 2 in Gujarat, and 2 in Rajasthan. India had recorded 123 new deaths on January 28, 2021.
