New Delhi : Only 18,732 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally of cases so far in the country to 1,01,87,850 at 8 am on December 27, 2020. On the other hand, 21,430 Covid-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in the country in last 24 hours taking the tally to 97,61,538 on December 27, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (2,78,690) by a massive margin of 94,82,848. The number of active cases was 2.74% of the total cases on December 27, 2020, a drop of 2,977 cases in last 24 hours.

Of the 1,01,87,850 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in the country, altogether 97,61,538 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 95.82%. India has tested 16,81,02,657 samples till date including 9,43,368 samples on December 26, 2020.

The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,47,622 on December 27, 2020, with 279 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 60 in Maharashtra, 33 in West Bengal, 23 in Delhi, 21 in Kerala, 14 in Uttar Pradesh, 13 in Uttarakhand, 12 in Chhattisgarh, 12 in Punjab, 11 in Tamilnadu, 11 in Himachal Praadesh, 9 in Madhya Pradesh, 7 in Karnataka, 7 in Gujarat, 7 in Haryana, 7 in Rajasthan, 6 in Bihar, in Jharkhand, and 1 in Andhra Pradesh. The Case Fatality Rate remained pegged at 1.45% in the country on December 27, 2020.  India had recorded 251 new deaths on December 26, 2020.
