New Delhi : A total of 16,838 Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,11,73,761 in the country at 8 am on March 5, 2021. On the other hand, 13,819 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,08,39,894 on March 5, 2021, exceeding the number of active cases (1,76,319) by a massive margin of 1,06,63,575.
The active cases accounted for 1.58% of the total Covid-19 cases (1,11,73,761) on March 5, 2021, an increase of 2,906 cases in last 24 hours. India has tested 21,99,40,742 samples so far including 7,61,834 samples on March 4, 2021. Meanwhile, 1,80,05,503 persons have been vaccinated against Covid-19 so far in India including 13,88,170 samples on March 4, 2021.
Of the 1,11,73,761 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in India, altogether 1,08,39,894 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 97.01% on March 5, 2021.
The Covid-19 toll rose to 1,57,548 in India on March 5, 2021, with 113 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 60 in Maharashtra, 15 in Punjab, 14 in Kerala, 4 in Karnataka, 4 in Tamilnadu, 3 in Chhattisgarh, 1 in Uttar Pradesh, 1 in West Bengal, 1 in Bihar, 1 in Madhya Pradesh, 1 in Rajasthan, 1 in Jharkhand, 1 in Delhi, and 1 in Andhra Pradesh. India had recorded 89 new deaths on March 4, 2021.
