Patna : Taking strong exception to violence and vandalism by trainee police constables including females at New Policelines, Patna, following the death of an ailing fellow trainee Savita Pathak, Zonal IG, Patna Zone, NH Khan, on November 4, 2018,   dismissed 167 trainee constables (rangroots) and eight police regular personnel for breaking discipline and resorting to violence including some senior police officials on November 2, 2018.
IG Khan also suspended 23 policemen posted in New Policelines and recommended for departmental proceedings against the,,
directing for department proceedings against them. He has also recommended to police headquarters for zone transfer of 93 policemen, who are staying in New Policelines for the past 10 years.
Director General of Police (DGP) K S Dwivedi had earlier directed NH Khan to carry out a probe into the incident. Khan found the allegation of denial of leave to Savita Pathak true to some extent. Three police officers have been placed under suspension in this connection.
The Zonal IG said that he had been directed by Police Headquarters to investigate the incident and for taking action. He said that investigation would continue and stern action would be taken against those found guilty.
