New Delhi : New Covid-19 cases outpaced the recoveries again in last 24 hours in India. A total of 16,577 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,10,63,491 in the country at 8 am on February 26, 2021. In sharp contrast, 12,179 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,07,50,680 on February 26, 2021, exceeding the number of active cases (1,55,986) by a whopping margin of 1,05,93,694.
The active cases accounted for 1.41% of the total cases (1,10,63,491) on February 26, 2021, an increase of 4,278 cases in last 24 hours. Of the 1,10,63,491 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in India, a total of 1,07,50,680 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) 97.17% on February 26, 2021, from 97.21% on February 25, 2021.
India has tested 21,46,61,465 samples so far including 8,31,807 samples on February 25, 2021. Altogether 1,34,72,643 healthcare workers have been vaccinated so far against Covid-19 in Inda including 8,01,480 beneficiaries on February 25, 2021, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The Covid-19 toll jumped to 1,56,825 in India on February 26, 2021, with 120 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 56 in Maharashtra, 14 in Kerala, 13 in Punjab, 8 in Chhattisgarh, 7 in Karnataka, 5 in Tamilnadu, 4 in West Bengal, 2 in Madhya Pradesh, 2 in Uttar Pradesh, 1 in Gujarat, and 1 in Bihar. India had recorded 138 new deaths on February 25, 2021.
