New Delhi: The rescue and relief operations by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in the flood affected various districts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh are in full swing. Fiftysix flood rescue teams of NDRF are operational in various flood prone areas of the different states to assist the respective state administration in rescue and relief work.

NDRF teams are delivering their best to evacuate the trapped people to safer places, said a PIB release. Besides NDRF teams are also providing medical care to the needy persons.  Sixteen NDRF teams are deployed in Bihar. On August 21, 2016, NDRF teams evacuated 3,400 persons at Didarganj, 580 persons at Bakhtiyarpur, 545 at Danapur, 380 at Chhapra, 355 at Vaishali and 15 persons at Maner( Patna). S.S Guleria, DIG, NDRF and other NDRF officials are also present there to supervise the flood rescue and relief operations, according to a PIB release.

Elevan NDRF teams are deployed in various flood prone areas of Uttar Pradesh. Seven of NDRF are pre-positioned in MP. The teams evacuated 147 marooned persons to safer places in Rewa district. A 24×7, NDRF Control Room in Delhi is closely monitoring the situation..
