Muzaffarpur : The 13th International Maithili Sammelan will be held at Deoghar on December 22 and 23, 2016. Giving this information at a press conference at Darbhanga on December 9, general secretary of the Matithili Sammelan Baidyanath Chaudhary `Baiju’ said that Jharkhand minister Raj Paliwar is the chief patron of the sammelan.

Panda Samaj of Deoghar very enthusiastic about the  programme and were trying their best to make it a grand success, he said. LNMU VC Saket  Kushwaha and KSDSU VC Nilima Sinha will preside over the two-day function. Several political leaders including Dr C P Thakur, Krishnanand Jha and Sanjay Sarawgi will attend the two-day sammelan, he said  adding several NRIs are also likely to participate at it.

The conference is held every year ever since Mathili was included in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution n 2003. It was earlier held in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Guwahati, Janakpur and Kathmandu, both in Nepal, Tirupati, and other places. Seminar incharge of the sammelan Manikant Jha said that the subject of the international seminar will be Impact of demonetisation'.

There will be an all language Kavi Sammelan too, said incharge Kavi Sammelan Harishchandra Harit. Cultural programmes will be held on both the days, said Treasurer Jivkant Mishra. Scholars of 24 languages will be honoured on the occasion with `Mithila Ratna’ on the occasion.
