Muzaffarpur : Excise and Prohibition Department sleuths, in separate raids conducted at Morsandi under Motipur police Station in Muzaffarpur district, and Indraprastha Colony under Ahiyapur police station, Muzaffarpur, seized 136 cartons of foreigh liquor and also seized a Truck, a Tata 407, a bike, and an Honda Amaze car on December 16, 2017, night. The Excise department team also arrested three persons including Akindra Rai at Morsandi.
Excise Superintndent, Muzaffarpur, Deenbandhu, said the plywood factory at Morsandi from where 59 carton foreign liquor was seized, had been sealed while a Tata 407 and a bike had been seized.
He said the Excise Department sleuths also seized 77 cartons of liquor from a dilapidated building in Indraprastha colony, Muzaffarpur, in another raid. The liquor was allegedly hidden there by Dilip Bhagat from whose premises huge quantity of foreign liquor was seized in September and November this year, Deenbandhu added. A truck driver Manish Singh of Sonipat, Haryana, was also arrested from there while the owner of the Honda Amaze had been identified. Three persons managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness.
Deenbandhu said that two FIRs had been lodged in connection with the seizure of liquor at Morsandi and Indraprashtha Colony.
