Muzaffarpur  :  Amidst the alert sounded by the  administration over Bird –flu in Bihar, 130 chicken were found dead on January 8, 2021, in an agriculture field at village Pateri-Tilak under Saraiya police station (PS) in Muzaffarpur District in North Bihar  triggering panic among the villagers .    Animal Husbandry Department officials were informed  by the villagers about this development and requested to inquire into the matter.

Dr Sunil Kumar Singh, District  Animal Husbandry Officer, Muzaffarpur, on  Janjuary 8, 2021, itself with a team of officials and
collected  samples of serum from the carcass of dead chickens for examinations.  He said that  these samples would be sent  to
Institute of Animal health and Production at Patna  for examination.

The villagers said that these dead chickens were thrown into an agriculture field by some  poultry farm owners  and they had buried buried the same to prevent spread of Bird-flu in the district.
