Ara: Appointments of 129 persons on grade three and four posts by different Vice-Chancellors of Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara, between  2008 and 2013 in 13 constituent  colleges under the  varsity are under scanner as  a vigilance team of the education department has started inquiry into these appointments Vice Chancellor, VKSU, Leela  Chand Sah has sent all documents  to the Additional Secretary, Education Department, K Senthil Kumar. The investigating team had requested the VKSU administration to cooperate with them in investigating illegal appointments in colleges under VKSU.

The VC said that all papers and documents relating to these appointments have been given to the government and the vigilance team. He said that 40 appointments each in Maharaja College and H D  Jain College, Ara, were illegal while 20 in M V College, Buxar, 11 each in A S College, Bikramganj, and S N College, Khairagarh, Rohtas, five  in Mahanth Mahadevanand Mahila Mahavidyalay, Ara, four each in S P Jain College, Sasaram, and Jagjiwan College, Ara, two each in S B College, Ara, and Shankar College, Sasaram, and one each in  J L M  College,  Dehri-on-Sone, and S  V  P  College, Bhabhua, were illegal.

Earlier the government had objected to these appointments made by former Vice-Chancellors, VKSU, and had asked for all documents, tabular statements, advertisements, creation of posts, formation of selection committee, approval of the VCs, reports on continuity of service after appointment. The matter was also raised at the meeting of the education department on March 2015, but the VKSU did not take it seriously and so the government considered these appointments illegal  and sent a vigilance team to inquire  into the matter.
