Ara : With around a dozen cases of Measles being reported from Ara Jail, Bhojpur DM, Sanjeev Kumar on April 21, 2019, directed the Civil Surgeon to take action and ensure proper treatment of the patients.
On the direction of the Bhojpur DM, a team of doctors led by Civil Surgeon Dr Laliteshwar Prasad Jha visited Ara Jail and treated the patients. The patients have been in a separate ward. The doctors took samples of their blood and also administered doses of Vitamin A.
CS Dr Laliteshwar Prasad Jha said that the condition of six inmates is normal while the rest six are seriously ill. He said that usually the patients recover from measles within a week but these patients might be suffering from Diarrhoea and Pneumonia as their immune system has become weak. He further said that the doctors are keeping round the clock vigil on the condition of these patients.
