12 bottles of foreign liquor seized at Ara, 2 arrested

Ara : Bhojpur police, on a tip off, conducted raid in Kanakpuri locality near H D Jain College under Nawada police station, Ara, on late February 25 evening and seized 12 bottles of IMFL. Police also arrested two liquor smugglers. An FIR has been lodged with Nawada police station under New Excise Act in this connection and the two liquor smugglers were forwarded to jail.

The arrested persons were identified as Mukesh Kumar Rai, son of Manoj Rai of Bagar village under Sikarhatta police station, and Mukesh Kumar, son of Nagendra Rai, of the same village.

Bhojpur SP Kshatranil Singh said that he got information that a consignment of liquor was smuggled from Haryana by a train and was taken somewhere in Ara. A police team immediately chased and seized the consignment from a house in Kanakpuri locality under Nawada police station, he said.
