New Delhi : India recorded 11,831 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,08,38,194 cases in the country at 8 am on February 8, 2021. On the other hand, 11,904 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,05,34,505 on February 8, 2021, exceeding the number of active cases (1,48,609) by a massive margin of 1,03,85,896.

The active cases accounted for just 1.37% of the total Covid-19 cases ( 1,08,38,194) recorded so far in India on February 8, 2021, a drop of 157 cases in last 24 hours. The country has tested 20,19,00,614 samples so far including 5,32,236 samples on February 7, 2021. Meanwhile, 58,12,362 healthcare workers have been vaccinated against Covid-19 so far in the country including 36,804 beneficiaries on February 7, 2021.

Of the 1,08,38,194 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in India, altogether 1,05,34,505 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 97.20%.

The Covid-19 toll increased to 1,55,080 in India on February 8, 2021, with 84 new deatrhs being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 30 in Maharashtra, 19 in Kerala, 6 in Chhattisgarh, 5 in West Bengal, 4 in Uttarakhand, and 3 in Karnataka. India had recorded 78 new deaths on February 7, 2021.

COVID-19 toll in India on February 8, 2021, was : Maharashtra (51,310), Tamilnadu (12,383), Karnataka (12,236), Delhi (10,879), Andhra Pradesh (7,159), Uttar Pradesh (8,687), West Bengal (10,207), Gujarat (4,395), Madhya Pradesh (3,820), Rajasthan (2,772),  Punjab (5,642), Telengana (1,611), J&K (1,944), Haryana (3,029), Bihar (1,516), Odisha (1,909), Jharkhand (1,078), Assam (1,084), Uttarakhand (1,668), Kerala (3,867), Chhattisgarh (3,741), Puducherry (654), Goa (772), Tripura (391), Chandigarh (340), Andaman & Nicobar (62), Himachal Pradesh (984), Ladakh (130), Manipur (373), Nagaland (88), Meghalaya (147), Arunachal Pradesh (56), Sikkim (135), Mizoram (9), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2).
