1 person killed, 1 injured as speeding Pick-Up van rams them at Bhojpur village

Ara : A speeding Pick-Up van crushed to death Khalasi of a truck and injured the driver near Chhotaki Sasaram on Ara-Buxar main road under Gajrajganj Police Outpost on May 24, 2019, night when they were sleeping at the roadside.

Plice brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted the injured there. But, the doctor referred the injured driver to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH). The deceased was identified as Nitish Kumar, son of late Ram Anugrah Singh of village Chhauriya under Belachhi police station in Patna district, while the injured was identified as Dinesh Pathak of Dariyapur-Chandrapura village under Naubatpur police station in Patna district.

SHO, Gajrajganj Police Outpost, said that Dinesh Pathak and Nitish Kumar were going to Buxar with the truck and stayed for a while near Chhotaki Sasaram to take some rest after parking the truck at a line hotel. Meanwhile, a speeding Pick-Up van rammed both of them in which Nitish Kumar, Khalasi, was killed on spot while Dinesh Pathak, driver, was seriously injured. The driver of the van fled away leaving the vehicle behind. Police seized Pick-Up van.
