Patna : One Suraj Pandit sustained bullet injury in leg in firing between two groups at Kumahar toli, Masaurhi, in Patna district at around 8.45 am on August 28, 2018. When police reached the spot 2 hours late, the locals resorted to brickbatting in which 3 police personnel were injured.
Sensing the gravity of the situation, Patna DM Kumar Ravi and SSP Manu Maharaaj also reached the spot to make an on the spot enquiry into the incident. They issued necessary directions to the local officials to handle the situation.
SHO, Masaurhi police station, attributed the firing between two groups to battle of supremacy between them. He said that one of the groups was led by Sonu Kumar Rai, 27, and Taz, 28, whereas the other group was led by Suraj Pandit, 25. The SHO said that in the firing by Sonu Kumar Rrai group, Suraj Pandit was injured. He said that members of both the groups have criminal antecedents and were arrested earlier during Ramnavmi. The SHO said that when the police reached the spot, VHP and Bajrang Dal members started brickbatting.
