Bagaha : A minor girl of village Lakshmipur in Patidar panchayat under Chautarawa police station (PS) in Bagaha police district was allegedly gangraped by four youth in a sugarcane field near the village on August 25, 2018, finding her alone there.
Sources said that the girl had gone to the nearby field for cutting gross for fodder where the 4 youth caught her, tied her hands and legs, gagged her mouth with cloth, and took turn to rape her and fled the scene leaving her unconscious. After frantic search, her parents found her in precarious condition on August 25 late evening. When the survivor regained conscious, she narrated the whole story to her parents.
Some locals tried to mediate in the matter but her parents did not agree and a case was lodged with Chautarawa police station against four persons including three unknown under various sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act on August 27, 2018.. One of the named accused Pappu Yadav was arrested and sent to jail on August 27. The survivor was brought over to the Juvenile Court, Bettiah, by police for recording her statement under 164 of the Cr.PC and medical examination. SHO, Chautarawa police station, Raju Kumar, said that other accused are being searched.
