Patna : Top seed Alexander Zverev, 24, Germany, and 2nd seed Casper Ruud, 22, Norway, reached the quarter-finals of BMW Open, ant ATP 250 clay courts  event, at Munich, Germany, on April 28, 2021.

World No 6 Alexander Zverev beat World No 89 Ricardas Berankis, 30, Lithuania,  in straight sets 6-2,6-4 in 2nd round in 86 minutes firing 6 Aces in the match. Zverev won 5 break points during the match to 2 by Berankis. Both the players won 3 games each in a row. The German, in all, won 69 points during the match to 54 bt Berankis. Zverev though also committed 4 double faults to 1 by Berankis.

World No 24 Casper Ruud beat World No 85 Pablo Cuevas,  35, Uruguay, in straight set 6-3, 6-2 in 2nd round in 68 minutes winning 3 break points and 5 games in a row during the match. Ruud also fired 4 Aces during the match. The Nowegian, in all, won 59 points in the match to 39 by Cuevas. Ruud will face World No 40 John Millman, 31, Australia, in QFs on April 30, 2021. Millman, the 8th seed, defeated  defeated World No 55 Gudo Pella, 30, Argentina, in 2nd round in 74 minutes.

Ilya Ivashka, Belarus, also entered the QFs beating World No 127 Mackenzie McDonald, 26, USA, 6-7, 6-1, 6-2 in 2nd round coming back from one set down. Ivashka fired 8 Aces during the match to 2 by McDonald. Ivashka also won 4 break points besides winning 5 games in a row.
