Patna : Top seed Alexander Zverev, 24, Germany, reached the semi-final of Open Sud de France, an ATP 250 point tennis tournament at Montpellier, France, defeating World No 58 Adrian Mannarino, 33, France, in straight sets in quarter-final on February 5, 2022.
World No 4 Zverev hammered World No 58 Adrian Mannarino 6-1, 6-0 in just minutes in quarter-final winning 6 break points and 8 games in a row during the match. Zverev won 25 receiving points to 11 by the Frenchman. The German, in all, won 53 points in the match to just 22 points by Mannarino. Zverev also fired 8 Aces during the match to none by Mannarino.
World No 83 Mikael Ymer, 23, beat World No 75 Richard Gasquet, 35, France, in three-sets in another quarter-final to enter the semi-finals of the tournament. Mikael beat Gasquet 7-6, 6-7, 6-1 in QF.
