Patna : Second seed Alexander Zverev, 22, Germany, 4th seed Karen Khachanov, 23, Russia, World No 35 Andrey Rublev, 21, Russia, and World No 72 Jeremy Chardy,32, France, advanced to 2nd round of ATP China Open at Beijing, China, on September 30, 2019.

World No 6 Zverev beat World No 46 Frances Tiafoe, 21, USA, 6-3, 6-2 in 70 minutes to enter the 2nd round winning 3 break points. Zverev fired 10 Aces in the match to 2 by Tiafoe. Both the players committed 3 double faults each in the match. Zverev won 39 service points to 29 by Tiafoe.

World No 9 Khachanov beat World No 47 Pablo Cuevas, 33, Uruguay, 6-2, 7-6 in 1 hr 31 minute to enter the 2nd round. Khachanov won 2 break points in the match besides winning 3 games in a row. Khachanov won 49 service points to 44 by Cuevas. The Russian also fired 8 Aces in the match to 2 by Cuevas.

Rublev upset World No 26 Grigor Dimitrov, 28, Bulgaria, 6-2, 7-5 to enter the 2nd round. Rublev won 4 break points in the match to 1 by Dimitrov. Dimitrov fired 6 Aces to 5 by Rublev.

Chardy edged past World No 65 Marco Cecchinato, 26, Italy, 6-7, 6-3, 7-6 to enter the 2nd round. Chardy hammered 16 Aces in the match to 13 by Cecchinato. Chardy also won 3 games in a row in the match.
