Patna : Top seed and World No 5 in ATP rankings Alexander Zverec, 22, Germany, and World No 92 Hugo Dellien, 25, Bolivia, have entered the quarter-finals of ATP Geneva Open in Switzerland on May 22, 2019.

Top seed Zverev, who had lost in the QFs of Madrid Open on May 10, 2019, and in the 2nd round of Italian Open on May 14, 2019, beat World No 80 Ernests Gulbis, 30, Latvia,  in straight sets  6-2, 6-1 in 2nd round in 65 minutes on May 21, 2019, night. Zverev broke Gulbis’ service 5 times in the match while the latter broke his service once. Zverev also fired 6 Acdes in the match to just 1 by Gulbis. Zverev won 8 games in a row in the match to just 2 by Gulbis. Zverev, however, also committed 6 double faults in the match to 3 by Gulbis. Zverev won 39 service points to 18 by Gulbis.

Dellien beat World No 317 Janko Tipsarevic, 34, Serbia, 7-6, 6-3 in the 2nd round in 1hr 45 minutes on May 22, 2019. Dellien broke Janko’s service 4 times in the match while the latter broke his service twice. Dellien won 5 games in a row in the match to 3 by Janko. Dellien also served 2 Aces. Dellien will face Zverev in the QFs on May 23.
