Zverev, del Porto, Anderson, Donaldson enter SF of Mexico Open

Patna : World Number 59 Jared Donaldon, 21, US, World Number 5 Alexander Zverev, 20, Germany, and World Number 8 Kevin Anderson, 31, South Africa, reached the semi-finals of Mexico Open tennis Championship at Acapulco on March 1, 2018. The tournament is played on Blue Hard Court since 2014 after 20 years on Clay court.

Number 2 seed Zverev beat World Number 60 Ryan Harrison, 25, US, 6-4, 6-1, saving all four break points while fifth seed Anderson beat World Number 29 Hyeon Chung, 21, South Korea, 7-6, 6-4, to enter the semi-finals of the Mexico Open, one of the 13 ATP 500 events. Donaldson defeated World Number 38 Feliciano Lopez, 36, Spain, 6-3, 6-1, to enter the semi-finals. Anderson will play  Donaldson in the semi-finals.

World Number 9 and sixth seed Juan Martin del Porto, 29, Argentina, also entered the semi-finals on March 2, 2018, beating World Number 6 and third seed Dominic Thiem, 24, Austria, 6-2, 7-6. del Porto will meet Zverev is the semi-finals. del Porto is 3-0 head to head against Zverev. The final will be played on March 3, 2018.
