Patna : Third seed Alexander Zverev, 24, Germany, defeated 6th seed Matteo Berrettini, 25, Italy, in straight sets in a Group stage match in season ending Nitto ATP Finals at Turin, Italy, on November 15, 2021.being played on indoor hard court. Zverev had a walkover as Berrettini retired in second game of the second set trailing 0-1 after losing the first set.
Zverev won the first set tiebreak 7-6 and was leading 1-0 in second set when the Italian retired. Zverev will face 2nd seed Daniil Medvedev, 25, Russia, in another Group stage match on November 17, 2021. Berrettini will face 7th seed Hubert Hurkacz, 24, Poland, in his second Group stage match on November 16, 221.
