Yuqi, Sugiarto, Praneeth enter 2nd round of All England Badminton Champiuonships

Patna : World No 2 in Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings Shi Yuqi, 23, China, World No 11 Tommy Sugiarto, 30, Indonesia, Indonesia, and World No 26 B Sai Praneeth, 26, India, marched into the men’s singles 2nd round of Yonex All England Badminton Championships 2019, a BWF World Tour Tour 1,000 points tournament, at Arena Birmingham, England, on March 6, 2019.

Yuqi beat World No 13 Anders Antonsen, 21, Denmark, 21-17, 21-16 in 45 minutes in the 1st round. Yuqi won 42 rallies to 33 by Antonsen. He won 5 consecutive points to 4 by Antonsen in the match. Yuqi now leads Antonsen 2-0 head to head.

Sugiarto beat World No 33 Rajiv Ouseph, 32, England, 21-16, 21-19 in 40 minutes in the 1st round. Sugiarto won 42 rallies in the match to 35 by Ouseph. He won 8 consecutive points to 4 by Ouseph. Sugiarto now leads Ouseph 7-1 head to head.

Praneeth beat World No 19 H S Prannoy, 26, India, 21-19, 21-19 in 52 minutes in the 1st round. Praneeth won 42 rallies in the match to 38 by Prannoy. Both the players won 4 consecutive points each in the match. The two players are now locked 2-2 head to head.
