Ara : A youth was shot dead at a birthday party at village Balbandh under Charpokhari police station in Bhojpur district in the wee hour on September 2, 2019. The deceased was identified as Dheeraj Kumar alias Akku, 23, son of Lallan Rai, a retired employee of Bihar State Road Transport Corporation, and Ramki Devi,Mmember, Ward No 5, Kaup Panchayat.
Police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. An FIR has been lodged with Charpokhari police station in this regard. Police are conducting raids to arrest the miscreants. Old enmity is also said to be the cause behind the murder.
SHO, Charpokhari police station, said that four professional dancers were called at a birthday party at a house at Balbandh village on September 1, 2019, late evening. Around 2.30 am, some persons started firing during the dance performance. When Dheeraj Kumar objected to it, they pumped bullets into his chest from point blank range killing him on the spot.
