Ara : A youth met drowned to death in river Ganga between Shahpur-Gopalpur villages under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur District on September 19, 2019, morning, while taking a dip in the river. The deceased was identified as Prakash Pandey, 20, of Ward No 7 of Shahpur Nagar Panchayat.
The villagers fished out the body and handed it over to police. Later, police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. SHO, Shahpur police station, said that Prakash Pandey was taking bath in the swirling Ganga between Gopalpur-Shahpur villages under the police station but was swept away in the fast current of the river and drowned.
