Youth drowns in river Gangi

Ara: A youth drowned in river Gangi near Balbatara locality under Town police station, Ara, on Sunday while taking bath.  Though his friends jumped into the river to rescue him, it was too late. SHO Town police station S K Sahi said that Sagar Singh, 20, son of Nageshwar Narain Singh, a Homeguards personnel of Balbatara posted at Ara jail,  had gone to take a dip in river Gangi along with his friends in the afternoon on Sunday. He jumped into the river from the bridge but drowned.  Police tried to find the body in the river but failed. Sagar was married to Dimple, daughter of Devnath Singh of Fuha village under Barahara police station, on December 2, 2015. Body of Sagar is yet to be found. Bhojpur district administration did not call the NDRF team that caused resentment among the locals.
