Young man shot dead at Ara by friends

Ara : Six armed miscreants shot dead one Shyam Babu Yadav, 25, near the gate of Sanjay Gandhi College under Ara Town police station around July 11, 2018, midnight, and escaped firing in the air. Police brought the body over to Sadar Hospital, Ara, for post-mortem. An FIR was lodged with Ara Town police station against seven persons in this connection and police arrested have one of them so far. Personal enmity is said to be cause behind the incident.

SHO, Ara Town police station, J P Singh said that two friends went to Shyam Babu Yadav, 25, son of Jai Mangal Yadav, at Ibrahim Nagar colony under Ara Town police around 10.30 pm as ever and took him with them for taking liquor. Later, five more persons also came and the seven took him near Sanjay Gandhi College where they attacked him with a sharpedged weapon and also pumped six bullets into his body killing him on spot.

On July 12, residents of the area and Shyam Babu’s family members blocked the Ara-Patna main road near Dharahara locality with the body of the deceased and paralysed movement of vehicles. They burnt tyres on road and raised slogans against the government. They were demanding compensation to the deceased’s family and arrest of the miscreants. The blockade was lifted after positive response from police officials. Hare Ram Yadav, family member of the deceased, said that Shyam Babu was a simple person and had no enmity with anyone.

Woman dies in accident  : A speeding truck crushed to death Sita Devi, 65, wife of Dadan Singh of Judge Bazaar locality under Bihia police station on July 12, 2018, when she was on morning walk.  The driver escaped with the truck after the accident. The family members brought her over to Ara Sadar Hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead.

Body recovered : Police recovered  body of a sweeper of Sadar Hospital, Ara, from a garden located  between Anand Nagar and Sri Tola under Nawada police station on July 11 late evening and brought it over to Sadar Hospital, Ara, for postmortem. The deceased was identified as Manoj Ram, son of Collector Ram of Ambedkar Colony under Ara Town police station.

SHO, Nawada police station, Subodh Kumar said that Manoj Ram had gone on duty on July 11 and  police recovered his body from a garden the same evening. The SHO said that he was killed in a road accident while the family members alleged that some miscreants killed him. The SHO said that the police are investigating the matter and the reason behind his death will be ascertained after the post-mortem comes.
