Patna : Top seed Akane Yamaguchi, 22, Japan, 2nd seed  HE Bing Jiao, 22, China, and 7th seed A N Se Young, 17, South Korea, entered the second round of Gwangju Korea Masters at Gwangju Women’s University Stadium, Gwangju Metropolitan City, South Korea, on November 20, 2019.

World No 4 Akane Yamaguchi, beat KIM Na Yeong, 24, South Korea, 21-19, 21-14 in 34 minutes in first round. She won 42 rallies in the match to 33 by Yeong. She also won 6 consecutive points to 4 by the South Korean. It was first meeting between the two players.

World No 7 HE Bing Jiao, China, beat World No 469 Ji Won  Bae, 23, South Korea, 21-11, 21-19 in 31 minutes in first round. She won 42 rallies in the match to 30 by Ji Won. The Chinese won 9 consecutive points to 5 by Ji Won. It was first meeting between the two players.

World No 10 A N Se Young, South Korea, beat World No 20 Aya Ohori, Japan, 25-23, 21-10 in 47 minutes in first round. Young won 46 rallies in the match to 33 by the Japanese. She also won 9 consecutive points to 6 by Ohori. Young now leads Ohori 2-0 Head to Head.
