Wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahia reaches final in men’s freestyle 57 kg category at Tokyo Olympics

Patna : Wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahia, 23, India, reached the final in men’s freestyle 57 kg category defeating Sanayez Nurislam, 30, Kazakhstan, by fall in semi-final on August 4, 2021, in a tremendous comeback. The score was Ravi Kumar 7 (Fall) – Nurislam (9).

Ravi Kumar Dahiya is only the second Indian wrestler to qualify for the gold medal clash. Ravi will face two-time World Champion Zaur Uguev, 26, Russia, in final on August 5, 2021. Zaur Uguev defeated Reza Atrinagharchi, 26, Iran, in semi-final.

Ravi Ravi Kumar Dahiya, a resident of Nahri, Sonipat, Haryana, is now sure to have a podium finish winning at least a silver medal by reaching the final. Wrestler Sushil Kumar has won two Olympic medals including a silver in wrestling.
