Patna : World No 3 and 2016 finalist Karolina PLiskova, 27, Czech Republic, entered women’s  3rd round at U S Open at New York City, New York, USA, on August 28, 2019, night. Karolina beat World No 202 Mariam Blokvadze, 21, Georgia,  6-1, 6-4 in second round firing 9 Aces in the match. Karolina won 4 break points in the match to 1 by Blokvadze. Karolina also won 5 games in a row in the match.

Karolina’s twin sister Kristyna Pliskova has entered 2nd round defeating World No 334 Diane Parry, 16, France,  6-4, 6-3 in first round. Kristyna fired 1 Aces in the match to just 1 by Parry.
