Patna : World No 17 Nikoloz Basilashvili, 27, Georgia, and World No 20 Denis Shapovalov, 20, Canada, crashed out of the ATP Monte-Carlo Masters 1,000 tennis tournament at Monte Carlo, Monaco, suffering demoralising first round defeat on April 15, 2019.

World No 37 Marton Fucsovics, 27, Hungary, upset World No 17 Nikoloz Basilashvili, Georgia, in a tough three-set contest 7-5, 3-6, 6-1 in the first round. Fucsovics fired 6 Aces to just 2 by Basilashvili. Basilashvili committed 9 double faults to 6 by Fucsovics. Fucsovics broke Basilashvili’s service thrice in the match while the latter broke his service once. Fucsovics won 5 games in a row in the match to 3 by Basilashvili.
