Patna : World No 152 Damir Dzumhur, 29, Bosnia & Herzegonia, upset 4th seed Nikoloz Vasilashvili, 29, Georgia, in three-sets in 2nd round to enter the quarter-finals of Open Sud de France, an ATP 250 points tennis tournament at Montpellier, France, on February 3, 2022.

Dzumhur beat World No 21 Vasilashvili 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 in a close contest in 1hr 37 minutes. Dzumhur won 6 break points during the match to 3 by the Georgian. Dzumhur won 3 games in a row during the match to 2 by Vasilashvili. Both the players fired 3 Aces each during the match. The Georgian committed 7 double faults to 5 by Dzumhur.  The Georgian, however, won 34 receiving point to 28 by Dzumhur.  Dzumhur will face Filip Krajinovic, Serbia, in quarter-final on February 4, 2022.

Second seed Roberto Baustista Augut, 33, Spain, entered the quarter-final after his 2nd round opponent  Gilles Simon, 37, France, retired in second set. Agut was leading 6-4, 3-2 when Simon retired. World No 19  Agut will face Alexander Bublik, 24, Kazakhstan, in QF on February 4, 2022.
