Patna : World No 115 kaia Kanepi, 36, Estonia, stunned World No 2 Aryna Sabalenka, 23, Belarus, in women’s singles 4th round in a three-set thriller to advance to women’s singles quarter-finals of Australian Open (AO) 2022 on January 24, 2022, Kanepi had shocked 16th seed Angelique Kerber, 33, German, the winner of three Grand Slam singles titles, in 1st round on January 18, 2022.
Kanepi beat Sabalenka 5-7, 6-2, 7-6 on Margaret Court Arena, Melbourne Park, Australia, rallying back from one set down.
