Patna World No 1 Kento Momota, 25, Japan, and World No 2 Chou Tien Chen, 29, Taiwan, will clash in the final of Korea Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500 tournament, at Incheon, South Korea, on September 29, 2019.

Two time World Champion and top seed Momota beat World No 30 Parupalli Kashyap, 33, India, 21-13, 21-15 in 40 minutes in the semi-finals at Incheon Airport Skydome, Incheon, South Korea.

Unseeded Kashyap, however, made Momota work hard for majority of the points he won. In the first game, which last 18 minutes, Kashyap was unable to score points on his own serve but in the second game he scored 7 points on his serve prolonging the game. Momota won 42 rallies in the match to 28 by Kashyap. Momota won 6 consecutive points in the match to 5 by Kashyap. Momota now leads Kashyap 3-0 Head to Head.

Chen beat compatriot Wang Tzu Wei, 24, the World No 25, 12-21, 21-13, 21-11 in 64 minutes in SFs. Chen won 54 rallies in the match to 45 by Wang.  Both the players won 6 consecutive points each in the match. Chen now leads Wang 5-0 Head to Head. Wang had defeated reigning Asian Games Champion Jonatan Cristie, Indonesia,, in the QFs on September 27.
