Patna : Union Minister and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) chief Upendra Kushwaha on October 27, 2018, said he stands wholeheartedly with the NDA and is working for another term for PM Narendra Modi, a day after he met RJD leader and Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejaswi Yadav triggering speculation of discontent in the NDA in Bihar.
Kushwaha met Tejaswi on October 26, 2018, at Arwal hours after BJP president Amit Shah in Delhi announced a seat-sharing formula for Bihar for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Kushwaha said the seat sharing is yet to be finalised in the NDA and he would meet Shah in the next two-three days. He wondered why a conclusion was being drawn that the RLSP would not get a fair deal. BJP, JD(U), LJP, and RLSP are NDA constituents in Bihar. The BJP had won 22 dseats in the 2014 LS polls while JD(U) had won only two seats. The LJP had won 6 seats while RLSP had won 3 seats.
“I do not understand this fuss about an equal number of seats for the BJP and the JD(U). Does it indicate any number? It could even imply that out of the 40 seats in Bihar, both parties will be contesting 10 each and leave the remaining 20 for others. There is a lot of scope for our party being accommodated respectably,” Kushwaha quipped.
