Ara : Two street vending zones will be created at Ara at an estimated cost of Rs 50 lakh. The street  vending zones will be made at Pakari and Bazaar Samiti areas and the Detail Project Report (DPR) has been sent to the state Urban Development and Housing department. Work on the project will start after the department approves the DPR.

Fifty to 200 persons will be allotted places in one street vending zone for opening of shops. All the shops will be equipped with latest technology and the Town Sale Committee has approved this. City Manager, Ara Municipal Coporation (AMC) Priyanka Rai and Aajeevika Mission Manager Krishna Murari Pandey surveyed the city vendors in urban areas and identified 2,500 street vendors and their saving accounts have been opened in banks.

Ara Municipal Corporation (AMC) had formed a Survey Committee to conduct survey in all the 45 wards under AMC  to identify street vendors in urban areas. The survey work has been completed and 2,500 street vendors have been identified. Street vendors set up their makeshift shops on roads, lanes and bylanes causing traffic jam but after construction of vending zone, the residents of Ara may get rid of perennial traffic jam.
City Manager, AMC, Priyanka Rai said that 17 vending zones will have to be made at Ara and a Town Footpath Vikreta Samiti has been formed and the vending zones will be made at the place on the recommendation of this committee. She said that construction of 10 vending zones have been announced so far but at present only two vending zones will be made. She said that the rest eight vending zones will be made in near future near SP residence, Ara railway station, Katira road, Head Post Office, collectorate staff quarters, Government Bus Stand, Jain College gate and Tribhuani Mor.
Priyanka Rai said that the vending zones will be equipped with latest technology and basic amenities. The amenities in the vending zones will be provided by Urban Street Vendor, a unit of Pandit Din Dayal Antyoday Rashtriya Shahari Ajeevika Mission. All the shops in the vending zone will be registered by the AMC and Rs 60 a month per shop will be charged for providing basic amenities.
