Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : Following the direction given by Jharkhand chief secretary Raj Bala Verma for urgent  implementation of  Jhumra Action plan  (JAP) on the pattern of Saranda Action plan, Bokaro  deputy commissioner R M Ray on February 3 told his officials that JAP figures in  top priority list of Jharkhand government hence all developmental projects  related to it must be completed at the earliest.

The JAP meeting and Janta Durbar was held  in the extreme naxalite zone of Utkramit Middle school, Banchatra, under Gomia bock of Bokaro, about 82 km away from Bokaro steel city. At the Janata Durbar, the Bokaro DC asked the villagers to report to him directly ifs they detect any shortcoming in developmental works.

Bokaro DC Ray stated that that Bokaro  deputy development commissioner R L Gupta  will be reviewing  all round development of this project every fortnight while he himself will be reviewing the progress every month. As per plan, work on development of villages, which includes construction of  rural roads, supply of drinking water facilities, n rkuninterrupted supply of power, opening up of health centres, opening of government shops to supply foodgrains at subsidized rates, opening of primary, middle and high schools, starting children welfare programme, providing transport facilities, construction of panchayat buildings, opening of handicraft  training centers besides generation of employments to youths by giving them technical trainings, has been started, DC Ray said.

It may be mentioned here  that Under JAP,  27 villages falling in  14 panchayats in extreme naxal infested zone of under Gomia block. Sources in administration revealed that Rs 491 crore has already been sanctioned by union finance ministry after approval from union home ministry and allotted to the state government which is  releasing the money to district administration in instalments. Sources said that  till date six  schools have come up in 9 panchayats  while a 30 bed hospital  has been  completed  in Jhumar zone and besides this drinking water pipeline has also been laid in several villages while  more than 9 villages have gone for  total electrification and  electric poles are being installed at several other villages.

Later, SP Y S Ramesh  distributed blankets, study materials and games materials to  hundreds of villagers who were present at Janata Durbar who complained they were not getting red card, funds for  Indira Awas  yojna, old age pension,  besides non-availability of drinking water facilities, informed the DC Ray. On asked when the JAP will be completed, the DC  said that work was moving at fast pace. “Once JAP is implemented, it will help in total eradication of naxalism from this zone,” Ray said.
