Ara : A married woman was strangulated to death at village Ratnadh village under Gadhani police station (PS) in Bhojpur District in South Bihar on March 16, 2021, late evening. The reason behind her murder is still to be ascertained.
The deceased was identified as Rita Devi, 22,wife of Arun Musahar of village Tarari under the same police station. Police recovered the body and brought it over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. A named FIR was lodged with police against Bhuwar Mia of Ratnadh village in his connection. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the accused.
SHO, Gadhani PS, said that Rita Devi, daughter of Darshan Musahar of Ratnadh village, was married to Arun Musahar of Tarari village under the same police station about six years ago but she was living with her parents at Ratnadh village for the last two years.
Rita was sleeping along with her cousin sister Jonia in a room when Bhuwar Mia entered the room and thrashed Rita Devi and later strangulated her to death. He also threatened Jonia with dire consequences if she dared open her mouth and so she did not tell her family members about the incident.
On March 17, 2021, morning, villagers said that they heard the sound of crying from the house of Darshan Musahar and thought family members were quarreling among themselves but after sometime, the sound stopped. They went to Darshan Musahar’s house and found that Rita Devi was lying dead on the floor and informed olice about it.
Darshan Musahar said that Bhuwar along with his friend had come to him on March 15, 2021, to meet Rita but he had a tiff with Rita and he threatened her with dire consequences. He further said that about two months ago Bhuwar Mia had entered his house but the family members caught and beat him up. The matter was hushed up at that time.
