Ara : A man shot dead his wife at village Rajpur under Imadpur police station in Bhojpur district on September 13, 2020, evening, for protesting his boozing habit. Later, he along with his family members disposed of the body to erase evidence. A named FIR has been lodged by Imadpur police station against the in-laws and husband of the deceased on the statement of her father Nand Kishore Singh.
The deceased was identified as Poonam Devi, 25, wife of Yogendra Singh alias Yoga Singh of Rajpur village under Imadpur police station. Police are conducting raids to arrest the named accused.
SHO, Imadpur police station, said that Poonam Devi, daughter of Nand Kishore Singh of Sato Parasia village in Rohtas district, was married to Yogendra Singh alias Yoga Singh of Rajpur village in Bhojpur district five years ago and had three children. The couples always quarrelled as Poonam Devi protested her husband’s liquor taking habit. Both quarrelled on September 13, 2020, evening too, and in a fit of anger Yogendra Singh shot dead his wife in a drunken stage. The SHO said that the in-laws and husband of the deceased are absconding since the incident after locking their house.
