Ara: Sunita Devi, 25, was strangulated to death allegedly by her in-laws at village Zamira under Ara Muffassill police station in Bhojpur district on Tuesday for dowry. Police recovered the body and arrested her sister-in-law (devrani) Sandhya Devi and father-in-law Vishram Rai when they were taking the body to perform last rite. Police brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and forwarded the arrested persons to jail.
A named FIR has been lodged with Koelwar police station against seven persons including the husband of the deceased. Sunita Devi, daughter of Lallu Yadav of Koelwar village under the same police station, was married to Nagendra Rai, son of Vishram Rai of Zamira village, three years ago and since then was allegedly being tortured by her in-laws her for dowry and when their demands were not fulfilled, they strangulated her to death.
