Ara : Chanda Devi, 22, wife of Sanoj Kumar, was killed near Zero mile under Nawada police station, Ara, in Bhojpur district, on March 3, 2019, night, and the body was disposed in a haste to erase evidence. A named FIR has been lodged by Nawada police station against six persons including Chanda’s husband Sanoj Singh and a former Mukhia on the statement of her father.

SHO, Nawada police station, Lallan Kumar, said that Chanda Devi, daughter of Awadhesh Singh of village Jamuaw under Sandesh police station in BHojpur district, was married to Sanoj Yadav, son of former Mukhia and Rashtriya Loktantrik Party leader Jitendra Yadav of village Ekauna village under Pawana police station on April 22, 2018.

Chanda Devi was living with her husband and other in-laws at a house at Zero Mile under Nawada police station. Her parents had given a lot in dowry at the time of her marriage but her in-laws were torturing her for a four-wheeler and when their demand was not fulfilled, they allegedly killed her and disposed the body to erase evidence. The SHO said that after lodging of an FIR, police are conducting raids to arrest the named accused.
