Woman killed for dowry at Buxar

Buxar : A woman Nazma Khatoon was killed at Sohani Patti under Buxar town police station in Buxar district on March 24, 2018, as her parents failed to meet the demand of her husband Javed Akhtar and in-laws for Rs 1.5 lakh cash. Police brought the body over to Buxar Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

A named FIR has been lodged with Buxar Town police station against the husband and in-laws of the deceased on the statement of her father but no arrest has so far been made in this connection.

Nazma Khatoon was married to Javed Akhtar, son of Zafir Mian of Sohani Patti, in 2013 and had two children. Javed Akhtar always put pressure on Nazma to bring Rs 1.5 lakh from her father as he wanted  open a shop and when his demand was not fulfilled, he and his family member killed her, alleged Nazma’s father.
