Ara : A married woman was killed at village Ahile under Narayanpur police station (PS) in Bhojpur District in South Bihar on July 7, 2021, night, allegedly for dowry.
Police recovered the body and brought it over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. A named FIR has been lodged by Narayanpur PS in this connection against the in-laws of the deceased on the statement of her father. Police are investigating the matter. The deceased was identified as Nazia Khatoon, 19, wife of Md Salauddin Mansoori of village Ahile.
SHO, Narayanpur PS, Nikunj Bhushan, said that Md Zola Mansoori of Ratani Bazaar under Sakurabad PS in Jehanabad District had married off his daughter Nazia Khatoon with Md Salauddin, son of Md Shamsuddin Mansoori of village Ahile in October 2019. He had given several articles and Rs 3 lakh cash at the time marriage.
After the marriage, her husband, Md Salauddin returned to Saudi Arabia to earn livelihood. When her husband went to Saudi Arabia, her father-in-law, mother-in-law and sister-in-law started torturing her for freeze, TV, and other things and also thrashing her. Nazia, according police, complained to her father about the torture. When their demands were not fulfilled, her in-laws allegedly strangulated her to death and later hanged her body to the ceiling to give it colour of suicide. The SHO said that the exact cause of death would be confirmed after the postmortem report comes. The deceased has left behind her nine month old son.
