Woman crushed to death by speeding bus in Bhojpur

Ara : A speeding bus crushed to death an elderly woman near Gadhani bridge under Gadhani police station in Bhojpur district on December 29, 2018. Irate villagers blocked Ara-Sasaram main road on NH 84 near village Gadhani with the body paralysing movement of vehicles. They were raising slogans against the district administration. They also demanded a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased and arrest of the culprit.

The blockade was lifted after positive response from police officials. Later, police brought the body over to Sadar Hospital, Ara, for post-mortem.

SHO, Gadhani police station, said that Bimala Devi had gone to Madhya Bihar Gramin Bank, Gadhani branch, to draw money. When she was returning, a speeding bus crushed her to death. The driver escaped with the bus.
