Buxar : A newly married woman committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling of her house at her in-laws’ place around midnight on February 17, 2021, at village Kanjharua under Koransarai police station (PS) in Buxar district allegedly due to frequent torture for dowry.
Police recovered the body and brought it over to Buxar Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. A named FIR was lodged with Koransarai police station against her in-laws and her husband in this connection. Police are conducting raids to arrest the accused. The deceased was identified as Khushbu Kumari, wife of Kamta Sah.
SHO, Koransarai PS, said that Khushbu Kumari, daughter of Jhaman Sah of Chhotaki Sarimpur in Buxar, was married to Kamta Sah, son of Jitendra Sah, on November 29, 2020, and was being tortured for a Gold Chain and a Car ever since. Fed up with frequent torture, she committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling of the house at her in-laws’ place. After her death, all the members of the family fled away. On getting information, parents of the deceased and police rushed to the spot.
The SHO said that the parents of the deceased alleged that her in-laws killed her and later hanged the body to the ceiling to give it a colour of suicide. The SHO stated that the exact cause of the death would be ascertained after the post-mortem report arrives.
