Ara : Fed up with family dispute, a married woman committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling of her room at Moti Tola under Town police station, Ara, in Bhojpur District, on July 26, 2020.
The deceased was identified as Puja Devi. The family members rushed her to Ara Sadar Hospital and scuffled with the doctors and paramedical staffs there when the doctors declared her dead. The matter was settled after the intervention of senior officers of the hospital. Later, they took away the body without post-mortem.
SHO, Ara Town police station, said that Puja Devi was married at Samardah village. She had come to her parents’ at Moti Tola under Ara Town police station recently after dispute at her in-laws’ house. He said that the locals informed that Puja Devi had a tiff with her husband who was on duty at IDBP, on mobile on July 26, 2020, morning, over some issues after which she hanged herself to the ceiling of her room and committed suicide. The SHO said that the family members blamed the doctors for dereliction of duty and laxity in the treatment of woman.
