Ara : Indu Kumari, mother of two children, died on January 15, 2018, night, after she was allegedly set afire by her in-laws’ at village Ichari- Pipara under Dhobaha Police Outpost in Bhojpur district for failing to meet their demand for Rs 5 lakh cash and a bike as dowry. A named FIR has been lodged with Dhobaha Police Outpost against the husband and in-laws of the deceased but no arrest has so far been made in this regard.
SHO, Dhobaha Police Outpost, said that Ramdhari Ram, an RPF Constable and a resident of Alipur locality under Ara Muffassil police station, had married his daughter Indu Kumari to Amarjeet Pawan of Ichari-Pipara village under Dhobaha police outpost in 2011. She had a son Aryan and a daughter Saloni. Her in-laws had allegedly a Bullet motorcycle and Rs 5 lakh as dowry and when their demands were not fulfilled, they sprinkled petrol on her around midnight on January 15, 2018, and set her ablaze. Police brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital on January 16 for postmortem.
