Ara : A married woman was burnt to death at Englishpur village under Dhobaha police outpost in Bhojpur District in South Bihar ion September 20, 2020, late evening. allegedly  dowry. Police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem on September 21, 2020.

The deceased was identified as Sangeeta Devi, 25, wife of Bindeshwari Yadav of the village. A named FIR has been lodged with Dhobaha police outpost against the in-laws of deceased on the statement of Surendra Rai, brother of the deceased. The police arrested Bihari Rai, father-in-law of the deceased.

The SHO, Dhobaha police outpos, quoting the FIR, said that Sangeeta Devi, daughter of Doman Rai of Sakaddi village under Koelwar police station, was married to Bindeshwari Rai, son of Bihari Rai of Englishpur village under Dhobaha police out post, in 2004 and was ever since being tortured by her in-laws for dowry and when their demand was not fulfilled, they burnt her to death. She has left behind four daughters and one son.
