The deceased was identified as Sangeeta Devi, 25, wife of Bindeshwari Yadav of the village. The SHO, Dhobaha police outpos, quoting the FIR, said that Sangeeta Devi, daughter of Doman Rai of Sakaddi village under Koelwar police station, was married to Bindeshwari Rai, son of Bihari Rai of Englishpur village under Dhobaha police out post, in 2004 and was ever since being tortured by her in-laws for dowry and when their demand was not fulfilled, they burnt her to death. She has left behind four daughters and one son.
